These are the ways I like to work. My name is Phillipa Page and I am a Registered Clinical Nutritionist. Well Within is designed to support people and communities to find health through food.

Sometimes we need help to make healthy choices. There is the temptation of food for comfort and indulgence. Food is emotional and social and cultural. Convenience food is attractive with a busy life and a family to feed in a hurry. Health can become lost among these competing food interests. But getting back to real food is vital for short and long term health.

I enjoy the challenge of balancing all these things to find healthy solutions that fit individual lives and health needs.

Personally food has been a challenge for me. I love to eat but have one of those ‘look at food and put on weight” bodies. As a teenager I was often told I must be healthy because I was vegetarian. This fueled a belief that I deserved more chocolate. I quickly learnt that a lot of foods that didn’t have meat in it were still not healthy! In my thirties I thought my eating was pretty good but discovered there were foods (even healthy ones) that did not work well for me. Fatigue, allergies and recurring illnesses were my wake up call to get to know my best foods. There is definitely more enjoyment in a healthy, energetic life than in the foods I thought I couldn’t do without.

A Diploma of Nutritional Science has given me a great basis for interpreting the explosion of research about nutrition and how food can affect health. It has taught me about looking at all of the body systems to see how the whole body is working and what gets in the way of full health. Research and learning is an ongoing passion that I apply to my work.

Travel; work in science and community organisations; qualifications in sociology and development; and several decades of living have given me a broad view of people, their needs and challenges. I bring this all together to create adaptable and practical health choices.

I am registered with the Clinical Nutrition Association. This means you can claim consultation fees with some health insurance policies at Southern Cross, Accuro and NIB Insurance.
